FALLing into Nature Workshop:
Practices for Centering and Connecting with Nature
Outside! in Prospect Park
Come and experience directly the healing power of Nature. This workshop will take place outside in Prospect Park. We’ll start with some Light Breathing and Shamanic Qi Gong, these are earth based meditation and movement practices that will help connect you with nature in our urban environment. There will be drumming, perhaps some rattles, and definitely warm herbal tea.You will have the chance to connect with Nature in a few specific ways inspired by the teachings of Buddhist Thich Nhat Hanh and shamanic shapeshifting–once guided in the group, and then on your own. There will be forays into the woods to open up your senses and connect with the natural world around you.
The intention, is that these practices will light you up, inspiring you to go out and be in the park and woods throughout the winter ahead; thus sustaining your connection with nature, and your life energy, until the spring.
I am so pleased to be offering this class. This work and play with nature, that I have been immersed in for decades, is now enriched by my current studies with my Vision Quest teacher Sparrow Hart, American and South American Shamans, and other Indigenous teachers of Earth Wisdom.
Practices will include:
*Breath practices to energize, cleanse, and calm; and help you tangibly connect with Nature.
*Movement Practice to ground, embody, and connect us with the elements, earth, and sky
*Sitting with a Tree
*Sitting in Nature with Rattle or Drum
